SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Corporate Services Division as a Business Development Representative (Competition #24-02-0667). This is a full-time position that will report directly to the Business Development Sales Manager and will be based out of our head office in Calgary, AB.

What to Expect:

You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of skilled project managers, technical administrators, business development professionals, an in-house IT department and many other highly experienced, and educated professionals.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of a variety of “cradle to the grave” Environmental Consulting services including: Environmental Planning, Drilling Waste Management, Decommissioning, Reclamation, Remediation, Risk Management and others. They will utilize this knowledge when interacting with new and potential Summit clientele to grow, develop, and represent Summit’s brand.

Job Duties:

You will carry out your duties in consultation with the Business Development team on all matters.

Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee, monitor and document sales efforts and outcomes within the CRM

  • Continuously update knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and best practices to provide informed recommendations to clients.

  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, Summit’s competitors, and potential clients' needs.

  • Initiate and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.

  • Present and demonstrate the value proposition of Summit’s services to clients through presentations, proposals, and meetings.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, such as project managers and technical experts, to deliver high-quality services and solutions to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in Business Development preferably in the environmental consulting industry (minimum 4 + years’ direct oil and gas industry experience)

  • Demonstrated understanding of development and asset retirement associated regulations.

  • Solid organizational and time management abilities to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to build rapport and influence decision making.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to understand clients’ needs and develop tailored solutions.

  • Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic and evolving business environment.

  • Exceptional writing/editing skills, with an ability to summarize key findings and effectively communicate complex concepts succinctly to different audiences.

  • Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary project team environment.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the sales process and closing business.

  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

The following are considered an asset

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, communications, marketing, or equivalent practical experience would be considered an asset
